My Teaching Philosophy
Being a Titleist Performance Institute certified golf instructor, I am able to better understand each student's unique body makeup and how that influences their golf swing. I do not believe there is one way to swing the golf club. I believe there are numerous ways to swing the golf club, and each individual's swing efficiency should be based around what they are physically capable of.
Before I see the student swing a club, I put them through a 20 minute physical screen. The screen provides raw data on how the student can and cannot move, which gives me the ability to train new techniques in ways the student is physically capable of.
This, coupled with the student's own goals and aspirations, gets us to the finish line much quicker.
Club Fitting
Professional Club Fitting, when executed properly, is an excellent revenue stream for all golf operations. Customers have many choices when it comes to buying new equipment. Choices between manufacturers, set makeup, and even retailers. If you want your golf operation to be the consumer's first choice, a few things are mandatory...
1) Educated Staff - The Professional staff must stay up to date with the various manufacturer's new product releases and be able to explain new technology clearly to buyers. The staff should also be able to understand the data from launch monitor systems. More importantly, the staff needs to know how to properly communicate the data to the buyer.
2) Marketing - Just like the rest of our merchandise operation, club fitting should be advertised to members year-round. It is the Professional Staff's duty to remind members how new equipment can positively effect their game.
3) Extensive Array of Equipment - Every golfer is different, and every game requires a unique setup. In order to serve the various skill levels of your clientele, a vast selection of fitting tools is necessary.
